Elections Canada is the national electoral management body mandated with conducting federal general elections and referendums in Canada. It is an independent, non-partisan agency that reports directly to the Parliament of Canada.

Its mission is to ensure Canadians can exercise their democratic rights to vote and be a candidate. Its responsibilities include administering the political financing provisions of the Canada Elections Act, monitoring compliance with electoral legislation, and conducting public information campaigns and education programs.

As a partner of ACE, the Electoral Knowledge Network, Elections Canada contributes, among others, to the development and promotion of knowledge and best practices in the field of electoral administration for French-speaking communities.
